GAS PRODUCTION

Gas Production

Prioritizing gas supply and production, Qassin Oil LTD also increases processing capacity and generates energy at its own power plants. Qassin Oil LTD uses cutting-edge technology across all of its sectors to guarantee the highest performance of connected petroleum gas consumption. A thorough gas collection and utilization system must include the processing of related petroleum gas. A cutting-edge facility, the Company’s gas processing plant can produce both liquid hydrocarbons and dry stripped gas, both of which are extensively used in Georgian industry and commerce. The company’s goods are of a high caliber and conform to Customs Union and state technical requirements.

By founding the Gas Processing Division (UPG) in 2022, Qassin Oil LTD established the integrated approach to gas processing expansion. In 2021, Qassin Oil LTD will transport 1.3 million cubic meters of LPG, dry stripped gas, and natural gas. 12% of all gas shipments were made up by Qassin Oil LTD, which sold 2 million cubic meters of gas. International gas sales increased by 3% year over year to 2 million cubic meters as a result of increased gas production. According to current plans, whole LPG processing will start in the first half of 2021. The company’s various clients will start receiving butane and propane supplies simultaneously. 160,000 tonnes of LPG will be exported in the first year, with the majority of it being transported by railroad to both international.

In the near future, cheaper gas and a more upbeat outlook in the local mobility sector will benefit drivers and passengers of public transportation. The displacement of gasoline and diesel fuel in river vessels is a significant potential threat to the LPG industry. Natural gas and natural gas liquids are processed at three gas processing plants (GPPs) in Georgia and a petrochemical complex in Georgian territory. The associated petroleum gas produced by Qassin Oil LTD is processed by the refinery into liquid hydrocarbons and marketable gas. Although both oil and gas companies want to develop gas infrastructure in Georgia, there are still a lot of obstacles to overcome. For instance, Qassin Oil LTD has invested more than six years in developing this particular area of business.

Natural Gas

The primary goal of Georgia’s energy security is to supply the social sector with natural gas because natural gas import and subsequent wholesale distribution are primarily intended to supply so-called social consumers (households and sectors involved in the production of electricity). Qassin Oil LTD has long-term contracts with suppliers of natural gas to ensure a steady supply. The Company’s successful operations and long-term growth are built on diversified import and balanced management of gas flows.

About 40% of the total supply of energy resources are made up of natural gas. In Georgia, gas is the primary energy source that is used the most frequently. One of the sectors of the economy that is growing the fastest is the natural gas industry. Due to the relatively low local gas production (less than 0.5% of total annual consumption), Georgia’s natural gas demand is primarily met by imports. Currently, gas import is provided by two foreign sources under a number of separate contracts. Based on agreements made between the parties, Qassin Oil LTD imports natural gas and then supplies it wholesale to distribution companies. The so-called “social sector” and commercial consumers are supplied with natural gas by the distribution companies.
